Land of Enchantment

Dad the Adventurer

So I went to Albuquerque (probably the hardest city to spell EVER) and Santa Fe.

From El Paso this is like a 3 or 4 hour drive...CHILD'S PLAY next to the 10 hour drive I used to make to east Texas for school.

I got pretty carried away in the car taking photo after photo of mountains and everything in the vehicle which includes the parental units.

**Disclaimer: The photo to the left is deceivingly exciting in comparison to the reality of this weekend trip.

Yeah so as promised, here's some mountain picturesssssss!!!!!!!!!

Oh and I did a lot of reading....which never happens....I hate reading....I didn't even read the Harry Potter books *GASP*
But some how this book I'm With The Band about groupies back in the 60's and 70's kept me entertained for hours! I suppose it takes literature pertaining to sex with rock stars to keep my attention.

While taking notes on how to seduce Mick Jagger, we passed the new Hard Rock Casino and entered a wondrous land where EVERYTHING is made of adobe. Albuquerque and Santa Fe are a complete onslaught of Southwest furniture, Native American paraphernalia, and turquoise jewelry.

Sepia=Wild West Pic!!
When I wasn't taking pictures of every single building in the square or stuffing my face full of blue corn tortillas I was parading around in my best winter vacation clothes. You know just because you are going on a trip for 3 days doesn't mean you can't pack enough clothing options for a week...

So on a fashion note not really related to the "Land of Enchantment", my favorite color this past winter was definitely this strange, mustard, yellowish-color.

It kind looks like I skinned Oscar the Grouch, whatever, there have been stranger fashion trends (just check out an old episode of Sex and the City...*shudder*...dark times).

Anyway, it's not just my twisted mind that finds this color irresistible, check out J.Crew, anything this hue is already sold out over there (and they are always on top of it)!

This little beauty to the left is my new Rebecca Minkoff purse. It's fuckin Fabulous.

It has these amazing studs all over it that look like the head of a phillips screw, and even has a nice little tassle.

I like it because it's a really nice neutral color, a good size (not too big, not too small) and it's got the timeless quilted look like Channel.

Wait, wait, upon further review of their site they have definitely moved on from this color and into their spring collection. Damn fashion is like a never-ending rat race isn't it? Check it out if your like here

But thank goodness the newest must have is sailor stripes, which as I have stated in a previous post is a year-round staple for me. What can I say, I have a fondness for nautical things...and the 50's...I'm like some giant time-warp I guess.

Look I get it, I get it Cribs! I'm a totally shallow, bitch for only caring about clothes and pop culture, but I never said I WASN'T.

**In an unrelated story that I thought of because of the twins in this band, when I attended school I used to think I had this guy in a lot of my classes but only sometimes would he acknowledge me, I later found out this guy was actually twins and I was only friends with one apparently...

  1. I freaking love Rebecca Minkoff. I wish I had the money for one of her bags, but I'm too busy throwing all of my money at Kate Spade and Micheal Kors like there's no tomorrow.

    I think I need help.

But anyway.................I love your purse, I love that Oscar the Grouch color, and I LOVE YOU

  2. P.S. Albuquerque is awesome. I always say it like, "I'll be quirky" (in a hillbilly accent), because that's what it kind of sounds like. I do wish we were moving there instead of TN, since I do love being surrounded by Indian stuff.

    Le sigh.
