Did that really just happen?
I know a lot of people are die hard 80's fans and adore the Brat Pack, but I just finished watching the 1986 film Lucas and I keep asking myself if that really just happen. Is this really considered an 80's classic?
Sure watching a young Charlie Sheen is always great, so is finding out Jeremy Piven started balding at 21.
But seriously the movie actually ended with a slow clap and a freeze-frame of Lucas (Corey Haim) throwing his arms up in triumph, just like every single movie of that decade did...
Is it just me or are most 80's teen flicks overly glorified, after school specials? And what is with the obsession back then for pastel colored, southwest decor? It seems to contradict their love of neon spandex. Just my opinion is all.

I agree. Totally. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of decent movies from that decade, but the ones that people absolutely love and deem as "classics" are usually way, way overrated.
ReplyDeleteOne that I don't get? Labyrinth. I know it has David Bowie and everything...but it's really just not that good. It's boring, and I just couldn't get into it. I definitely don't understand how people can be so in love with it.
I could go on and on about this. :P
OMG YES! Like I watched this movie with Bowie called The Hunger or something like that...basically it was the most retarded 80's vampire flick ever...and I've seen the Lost Boys.
